Motion Sensor is a HomeKit-enabled multi-sensor using Bluetooth® low energy wireless technology. Along with detecting motion, the accessory measures temperature and light intensity. Built-in accelerometer detects tampering with the accessory. Every time the movement is detected, Motion Sensor will glow in different colour depending on the temperature.

The FIBARO Motion Sensor is a wireless, Z-Wave compatible device used to detect motion and trigger various automated actions within a smart home system. It can be used to turn on lights, adjust the temperature, or activate other connected devices based on movement within a room. The FIBARO Motion Sensor is designed to be small and discreet, and it can be placed on a shelf or mounted to a wall. It uses passive infrared (PIR) technology to detect motion, and it has a range of up to 16 feet. The device is battery-powered, making it easy to install without the need for a power outlet, and it has a long battery life, so you won't need to replace the batteries frequently. The FIBARO Motion Sensor can be integrated with other Z-Wave compatible devices, such as smart locks, light switches, and thermostats. This allows you to create automated scenes that can be triggered based on motion, such as turning off lights when you leave a room or adjusting the temperature when you enter. The device is easy to set up and configure, and it can be managed through the FIBARO Home Center app or through a web browser. This makes it easy to monitor the status of your motion sensor and to adjust the settings to meet your specific needs. Overall, the FIBARO Motion Sensor is a versatile and reliable device that provides an effective way to automate your smart home system based on motion detection. With its compact design, long battery life, and easy setup, it is an excellent choice for anyone looking to add motion-based automation to their smart home.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is battery powering mode the only one available?

Yes, it cannot be supplied in any other way. There is no built-in connector for a low voltage supply.

How to configure the earthquake detector?

It is very simple. Motion Sensor can be configured to work as an earthquake detector by setting the parameter 24 value to 4. Reports with scale of the vibrations (dimensionless) will be sent at the time intervals specified in parameter 22.

Internal temperature sensor measures overstated temperature. Can I compensate it?

You can set the value to be added to the actual temperature, measured by the sensor in parameter 66.

How can I adjust sensitivity to avoid detecting small moving objects?

Motion Sensor’s sensitivity may be set in the first parameter. The lower the value, the more sensitive the PIR sensor is.

My Motion Sensor does not detect multiple triggers one after the other. Why?

You have to adjust the motion sensor’s blind time (insensitivity) in parameter 2. After this period of time the sensor will be able to detect motion. The longer the insensitivity period, the longer the battery life is. If the sensor is required to detect motion quickly, the period of time may be shortened.

I am getting false motion alarms. What may be the reason?

Current range of the sensor can be influenced by the environment conditions. Check for any moving objects within the sensor’s detection area, such as trees swaying in the wind, cars passing by or windmills. False motion alarms may be caused by moving masses of air and heat as well.

Is it possible to integrate Motion Sensor with a wired alarm system?

No, the FIBARO Motion Sensor can work only as a wireless Z-Wave device.
